Seef District, Bahrain – The Ministry of Youth Affairs has achieved a significant Arab accomplishment as the National Project Lamea received the award for Best Arab Government Project to Empower Youth, presented under the Arab Government Excellence Award. H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, received the award shield at a ceremony organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.
On this occasion, H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that winning this prestigious Arab-level award is the true result of the great support that youth empowerment programs receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Majesty has always emphasized the importance of empowering Bahraini youth across various fields. She also noted that this award is aligned with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who has made youth empowerment one of the priorities of government work.
The Minister of Youth Affairs highlighted that through the National Project Lamea, the Ministry has worked to translate the strategy established by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. This strategy aims to empower Bahraini youth and enhance their global competitiveness by advancing their skills and capabilities through specialized programs that contribute to discovering, refining, and showcasing their talents, positioning Bahraini youth as active partners in the Kingdom’s development process.
The Minister added that the Ministry has actively worked to strengthen youth competitiveness and intensified its efforts to adopt effective methodologies that support outstanding youth through the National Project Lamea. The program has achieved remarkable results locally and was able to secure this Arab award, which stands as a high-level regional recognition of Lamea’s achievements and its real role in youth empowerment in the Kingdom. She noted that Lamea has become a Bahraini success story that can be shared with other nations to inspire youth empowerment across fields.
It is noteworthy that the National Project Lamea is the result of the forward-looking vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, aimed at creating exceptional young leaders capable of raising Bahrain’s flag in all arenas and leading national projects in alignment with His Majesty the King’s vision for comprehensive development.
Participants in Lamea undergo a multi-stage evaluation process, which includes a series of globally benchmarked assessments, challenges, training workshops, and international bootcamps designed to shape their character before advancing to the final stage of proposing and executing projects that contribute to the development of the Kingdom’s sectors.
